Where It All Began
It all began with music... and a deep, unshakeable love for it.
Before Cinestar Events became a household name across Australia and New Zealand, Director Yogesh K Sharma was immersed in the very heartbeat of Bollywood. Through the 1990s, he worked at the centre of India’s music industry: as a sound recording engineer, video production specialist, and music marketing consultant. He founded The Tune, one of Mumbai’s most sought-after digital sound recording studios of the era.
Those were extraordinary years. The corridors of The Tune welcomed legends: Asha Bhosle, Sonu Nigam, Daler Mehdi, Mika Singh, and many more. These were not simply professional relationships. They became friendships, lifelong bonds, and a shared celebration of the power of live music to move people in ways that words alone never can.
When Yogesh made the journey to Australia, he brought that passion with him... and a vision. The Indian and South Asian community of Australia and New Zealand deserved the very best of Bollywood entertainment. Not smaller shows. Not compromise. But world-class, professionally produced concerts that matched the grandeur of the artists themselves.
In 2004, Cinestar Events was born.
What started as a dream has grown into a legacy. Over two decades and 120+ spectacular shows later, Cinestar Events stands as the leading Bollywood entertainment promoter across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Fiji. We have brought legendary voices including Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Kapil Sharma, Kumar Sanu, Mika Singh, Jagjit Singh, Asha Bhosle, and so many more to audiences who love them as deeply as we do.

Meet the Visionary
Yogesh K Sharma
Director & Founder, Cinestar Events
Yogesh K Sharma has built an extraordinary career spanning over 35 years in music and entertainment. Eleven remarkable years at the heart of Mumbai’s Bollywood scene, followed by two decades growing Cinestar Events into a regional institution, make him one of the most respected figures in Bollywood entertainment promotion outside of India.
His journey began as a studio professional in Mumbai, where he founded and ran The Tune, one of the city’s most celebrated digital sound recording studios of the late 1990s. It was there that he forged personal friendships with artists who would go on to define generations of Bollywood music, artists who remain close to his heart to this day.
The bond with the legendary Sonu Nigam (a friendship spanning over 25 years) is perhaps the most cherished of these relationships. It is a friendship built on mutual respect, shared history, and an enduring love of music that has since brought joy to hundreds of thousands of fans across the Pacific.
Yogesh’s philosophy has always been beautifully simple: every audience member deserves a concert experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. That commitment to quality, warmth, and authenticity is the foundation upon which every Cinestar Events production is built, and it is a promise we renew with every single show.
